Our Teachers

Ustadh Moudud brings over a decade of experience in Islamic education, overseeing operations across multiple madrasahs. He has studied Arabic in Syria and Egypt and holds a postgraduate degree (MSc) from the University of Oxford. As a children’s author, he combines creativity with leadership to shape engaging and meaningful Quran learning experiences.

Ustadh Mamun Ali is an experienced educational leader with over 15 years in primary education. He is a Phonics Specialist and Designated Safeguarding Lead. As Headteacher at SignSay, he teaches BSL (British Sign Language) and holds Level 1 to 6 BSL qualification. He also leads at a weekend Islamic school and heads an online Quran institute, supporting high standards in Quran reading and child-centred learning.

Ustadh Zeeshan is a Hafiz of the Quran and an experienced teacher of Quran and Arabic, teaching at both a weekend school and Bow Mosque. As a Khateeb who leads Tarawih prayers, he brings strong recitation and real world experience. His confident yet approachable style helps children develop fluency and strength in Quran reading and memorisation.

Ustadh Riad is a dedicated Quran teacher with over five years of experience teaching Quran, Arabic & Islamic studies at a weekday madrasah. He is currently studying Economics while continuing his Hifz under Shaykh Dawoud Yahya and Shaykh Redwan Ahmed. He is also studying the Qira’aah of Imam Aasim and Quranic sciences, including Tajweed and Usul, alongside Arabic language studies. In addition, he provides private Quran tuition and works as a media producer at Darul Ummah.

Ustadh Umar is a Special Educational Needs support teacher who brings patience, care and understanding into every lesson. Alongside teaching Quran at a weekend school, he continues his own Hifz studies at East London Mosque. He is especially valued for creating a calm and inclusive space where every child feels supported and encouraged to progress.

Ustadh Shuhayb is a Hafiz of the Quran and a dedicated Quran teacher, currently completing his sixth year of Alimiyyah studies. Alongside his work as a software engineer, he leads the weekend school as Branch In-Charge. He is known for his calm and structured approach, helping children build confidence in Quran reading, Arabic and Islamic studies.

Ustadha Umm Hamzah is training in Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) education and brings a warm, nurturing approach to teaching. She works closely with younger children, helping them build confidence and develop a positive connection with the Quran. Her gentle and supportive style ensures children feel comfortable, engaged and encouraged from the very beginning.

Ustadha Umm Yusuf is a qualified Quran teacher with Ijaza, specialising in teaching female students through online sessions. She delivers lessons in Bangla for adult learners, offering a refined and supportive learning experience. Known for her clarity and patience, she helps students develop accurate recitation and a deeper connection with the Quran.
